Im a first time expecting mum and linked with the MGP service at Broome Hospital. Ive been attending the hypnobirthing/positive birthing classes online and whilst I have found them somewhat informative its not really my “style”. I would prefer Broome Hospital to offer face to face antenatal classes that are practical and offer a hands on approaching for expecting parents. For example, education and discussion of what to expect when you labor, breathing techniques, how to bath a baby, how to breastfeed. Real life practical stuff that i know would be useful for so many new mums and dads.
I was booked into a labor and delivery course at Broome Hospital that was unfortunately cancelled and when i contacted the lovely midwife she explained WACHS now wants to only do the hypnobirthing. I am requesting they consider a more hands on/practical style class as well as/instead of.
