"Mental Health Concern"

About: Cobar District Hospital

(as the patient),

I was in and out of the hospital for over a month. I had reached out for mental health help, and constantly got discharged. I was in an episode of psychosis at the time. They were discharging me multiple times, whilst erratic.

I had presented to the ED multiple times a week and they continued to discharge me instead of seeking further help mentally or admitting me into a mental health institution, knowing I was in psychosis. I believe it was due to their negligence that this episode lasted over a month. I had no prior history at all of delusions and with proper help I could have gotten my life together a lot sooner. I have only now, an entire year later recovered entirely from that and finally feel normal and completely healthy again.

There were periods that I went to the hospital every single night for a week and they still discharged me, which caused me to have memory loss where things happened I can't recall which could have even lead to legal problems I wouldn't have had any control over. They also had made rude remarks and mocked my mental health diagnosis, treating me as if I was faking it for medication which was disgusting.

The continuous delay of proper treatment between this hospital and another hospital was ridiculous, in my opinion, and Mental Health care must be severely updated, as it continues to impact peoples lives constantly and risk damage by not assessing the issue correctly.
