"Our Emergency Department and HITH experience"

About: Prince of Wales Hospital / Emergency Department Prince of Wales Hospital / Hospital in the Home

(as a parent/guardian),

My 17 year old son presented to emergency at 330am after non stop vomiting for 2 days, splitting headache and swollen neck / unable to swallow sore throat. Our ED experience was mixed due to the volume of patients presenting initially but 12 hours later and changeover to a fresh team at 8am we then received the very best comprehensive care that has extended to hospital in the home care since. We are so grateful to the HITH team for their visits and daily check-ins and also to the ID team. Constant communication has been so reassuring for the family. Huge care factor makes the world of a difference. Thank you so much

Dear cheetahks54,

Thank you for providing such wonderful feedback about our Hospital in the Home (HITH) service. It is great to hear that your son was able to be cared for at home, and the family has felt supported and reassured. I have passed on your feedback to the HITH and ID Teams. We hope your son's recovery continues well at home.

kind regards,

Brenton
