"Great help in a busy ED"

About: Fiona Stanley Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

I took my son into FSH Children's ED after a community needlestick injury. The ED was heaving with sick kids and we waited about 45mins to see the triage nurse at approx 9.50pm. I didn't catch her name but she was excellent. She listened, asked questions and then used great clinical reasoning to discuss our case immediately with the consultant, which gave us the option to leave the ED and follow up with our GP that day (saving us a 4hr wait and making room for others). Thank you so much to the thoughtful nurse for your quick thinking and using the MDT to benefit all of us. We saw our GP for the recommended follow-up that day.
