"Disgusting treatment"

About: Bunbury Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I presented to the Emergency Department in Bunbury earlier this month showing signs of distress and clearly in intense pain inside my bladder.

The pain I described was stinging, burning, with next to little or no urine. I understand these Particular symptoms are Usually a strong indicator of potentially an STD infection, a possible bladder infection or early signs of kidney disease. Despite clearly expressing the intensity of my pain and the symptoms I was experiencing, the medical staff did not perform what I believe to be appropriate testing/screening that was relevant to my condition and symptoms.

Instead of performing an STD screening, or testing my urine for a possible bladder infection; I was tested for methamphetamine which was not relevant to my symptoms, or the reason for my visit!

I feel this questions serious misconduct negligence, in my opinion, inappropriate unecessary and irrelevant testing protocols, and failure to provide me with the medical care and answers I so desperately needed and still need !

Dear woodpeckerzj99,

I was really sorry to read about your experience in ED. Our medical teams are very proficient in reviewing and testing for causes that might explain your pain and discomfort. It sounds like you are still experiencing similar discomfort.

In order to assist you more meaningfully, I invite you to contact our Regional Consumer Feedback Coordinator on 9753 6537 who will be able to connect you with an ED representative who can provide assistance with understanding your assessment process and what avenues you might explore to resolve your ongoing symptoms.

I do hope this will help you at this time.

Take care.

Regards, John Brearley Co-Director Bunbury Hospital
