"Peadiatric dietician wait-times"

About: Allied Health (Bass Coast Health)

(as a parent/guardian),

My child was referred at the beginning of August to the dietician fussy eaters program on the advice of their peadiatrician due to them loosing 3kg in 6months.

After waiting months we finally got an appointment booked for the end of this month. Only to have this appointment cancelled on the day of.

We received a call to re-book and were given an appointment in late December. Only to be called back to have it rescheduled for February.

Living regionally, there are very few options and honestly this was all the doctors could suggest to help my child.

When the child only weighs 28kg at 8 years old, I believe its not healthy to wait another 3 months and have them loose more weight.

Absolutely not good enough in my opinion.

Dear Worried Parent of a Picky Eater,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I’m truly sorry that your child’s appointment has been rescheduled multiple times. I understand how frustrating and inconvenient this must be for both you and your child, and I agree that this is not ideal.

I’d really appreciate the opportunity to hear more about your experience so we can work on improving our service. Please feel free to contact me at any time on 0436 642 975.

Kind regards,

Kirsten Weinzierl
