"Emergency Department experience"

I feel thankful for the people who provided me with care when I had a life- threatening condition- extremely high blood pressure of 234/123; blurry vision & slight numbness in my left lower leg.

I saw the local doctor at Lagoon Medical Centre, Yanchep. Dr Muhammad got the nurse to call an ambulance and very soon the two young ambos- Sinead & Maya (sp) checked me out and transferred me to the waiting corridor of Joondalup Hospital.

I was later asked to go to the waiting room- over the next 7 hours both my family, friends & hospital staff cared for me. All were kind and helpful. A young worker who had a head injury even asked if I needed anything when I lay down on the seats. There must have been at least a hundred people waiting for care and they were quiet and resilient. Later Dr Fiona managed my case. 

I sent my thank-you letter to the hospital staff as well as a statement that our state needs to support the holistic health of all.
