I had the most amazing experience at King Edward’s memorial hospital. I was lucky enough to be part of the MGP4 program. Working closely with Emma, and secondary Chloe. I cannot speak more highly of the weeks leading into the birth of my daughter, the weekend of and the week after.
My midwives were so caring. Each checkin appointment I felt heard, and valued. I was never rushed or left feeling unhappy or unsure. My midwives were only a phone call away if I had any concerns. Jayde, birthed my daughter as my midwife was on her “off weekend”. Despite not having Emma, Jayde was so wonderful. I never felt uncomfortable nor did she ever feel like a stranger. She was so professional, kind, gentle and calm throughout my labour and the birth. It was the most a surreal and magic day. The after care was unbelievable. I had home visits from both Emma and Chloe the week after. It was so special to have comfort and specialist support and advice come into my home and check in with my babies progress.
The hospital staff I saw all exceptional. The anaesthetist absolutely phenomenal, he made me feel so calm with the nerves of having an epidural. All remainder doctors and nurses - brilliant. All the smiles from all support staff so welcome whilst in a bundle of nerves and in the aftermaths of the newborn bubble for my three nights after.
I cannot speak more highly of everything. I am so grateful for all involved and would recommend to anybody uncertain or nervous about the public system. I will do it again and not ever consider another route or hospital pathway.
