"Hospital building"

The staff at BDH are wonderful! My call before my the procedure, everything on the day and the check up were all great. I went in to have my wisdom teeth out and cannot fault the staff and their work.

However, the hospital itself is old, outdated and honestly depressing in my opinion. Having grown up in the town, it’s disappointing. I understand the building is old, but I feel for the staff who spend endless hours there. It’s dark and outdated. I feel it doesn’t feel welcoming or warm. I believe not only would it be hard for patients on the wards who are they for longer periods of time, but I imagine to work there everyday would be mentally draining.

I believe the staff deserve some upgrades and enjoy where they work! Their mental wellbeing is just as important as the care patients receive. The fact that they are so great despite the environment is a huge credit to them as people. A fresh coat of paint, some bright art work and bright lighting wouldn’t benefit both patients and staff.
