"Everything gone wrong"

About: Armadale Hospital / Colyer Surgical & Medical Ward

(as the patient),

Too much to tell here but goes from Doctors I experienced struggling to insert cannulas time after time then insisting on putting in another despite them blocking after just one use,  to their kitchen serving up great lumps of beef stew with peas and corn and jacket potatoes then today got vegetarian Vegetable Stir Fry with peas and, I believe, very old, jacket potato as light meals when I have just come off a liquids only diet and most of my intestines have been unused for the past six months.

And this is not the first time I have suffered traumas and, I feel, ill-use at the hands of this hospital.   I have gone from fully caring for myself and my little unit on a HCP six months ago to being at the mercy of a Residential Aged Care Facility due to the hospital insisting on discharging me despite my being too unwell to care for myself- turns out that they also discharged me with covid😩.

I don’t know where this hospital has seemingly gone wrong - their staff I've seen, treatment, and the food were beyond reproach once upon a time and my treatment at times has been beyond bad - many times ending in tears.

Dear Spitting tacks,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I’m very sorry to hear that your care did not meet your expectations. It’s clear from your post that this has been a very difficult period for you, and I’m saddened to know that your experience with us added to that. Your feedback will be shared with the Colyer Ward and our Dietetics team for their awareness.

I hope you are feeling better soon and thank you again for sharing your story.

Kind regards

Alisha Thompson
