About: Kalgoorlie Health Campus / Medical Ward

(as the patient),

Had double pneumonia was in the HDU unit, care was great and room was clean, then i got moved to the medical ward, OMG. In my opinion, what a disgrace, I noticed the vents directly above my head are seemingly full of years of old dust, the next vent along side of it has black grease marks on apparently every surface, and just so it all matches, the smoke alarm appears to be covered in webs and tiny bugs, do these things even work , and who are the cleaners, what is management doing! I feel this can not be healthy.

We truly appreciate your feedback regarding the cleanliness and care in our High Dependency Unit. This area cares for our most unwell patients, and it’s reassuring to know that your experience there was positive. Your comments will be shared with both our clinical and non-clinical teams.

We also take your concerns about the Medical Ward very seriously. We conduct regular environmental audits however an immediate response has been actioned, in relation to your feedback. We are working closely with our clinical and non-clinical teams to ensure the standard of cleanliness meets our expectations and yours.
