My parents are in their 80s. They’ve been going to the general practice for over 20 years (and would have spent thousands at this clinic). As pensioners, they trusted this clinic with their health, their records, and their ongoing care.
But I believe that care is gone.
When their long-time GP retired, the new doctor told them they would only keep one of them as a patient — because they apparently had too many patients. That forced both of them to leave, because realistically, at their age, they need to stay with the same doctor at the same clinic.
Then came the kicker: they were told they would need to pay $60 just to transfer their medical records. These are pensioners. Elderly Australians. Loyal patients of two decades. And now being charged to walk away from a clinic that seemingly refused to continue treating them.
In my opinion, this clinic is no longer about care — it’s about cash. It feels like they’ve put policy and profit over the very people who built their reputation: the seniors in this community.
I think this isn’t just disappointing. It’s disgraceful.
If I was looking for a family practice with compassion, consistency, and long-term care — I believe this isn’t it anymore. And if you're a senior or care for aging parents like I do, based on our experience I would think twice.
"Loyal patients for 20+ years now treated like an invoice number"
