When attempting to enter the ED at 10 pm as directed by a GP, I was told it would be “a few hours”. A few hours turned out to be 10 hours sitting in the cold waiting room. If the expected wait is 8+ hours overnight, I would rather have been told that and gone home to sleep, then return during the day.
