"Surgical Services Department for colonoscopy"

I have had 8 colonoscopies in different hospitals over the years and always found the preparation extremely debilitating and the time spent waiting for the procedure stressful. 

This morning's experience was such a comparative delight that I hope you will find time to publish this letter as a thank you to the people involved.

The light and airy design of the department was immediately relaxing, and it was wonderful that the TV volume was kept to a non intrusive level.

The receptionist was welcoming and waiting time was short, considering I had arrived early.

In the approximately 4 hours spent there, it was so pleasing to see all the nurses greeting each other cheerfully and working cooperatively, while all the time being interested in  patients' comfort.  Doctors, too, took time to explain their procedures.

All this has been so instrumental in turning the usual difficult, boring time into one where the patient feels valued and respected.
