"Excellent care"

About: Armadale Hospital / Canning Medical Ward Armadale Hospital / Colyer Surgical & Medical Ward Armadale Hospital / Medical Admissions Unit Royal Perth Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a carer),

A big thanks to Armadale and RPH ED for the excellent care my elderly relative received on New Year’s Day when he present in severe pain - our family can’t thank you enough as to the fast treatment and interventions.

Plus the thoroughness of the medical team to help to help clarify and manage the health issues that come with age to help provide some quality for an aging person who has never had a sick day in his 90 odd years of life.

Finally big thanks to the ward staff - MAU, Canning, allied health teams, PCA’s, AIN’s and pharmacists - you guys do an absolute brilliant job (I hope I haven’t missed anyone)

PS to the kitchen -the meals were great - passed the elderly old man’s taste test.

He is home now - has a few battles ahead but looking so much better with your help.

Thanks all for looking after our “grumpy pop”

Dear Fifster2011

Thank you so much for sharing this lovely feedback. I am delighted to hear how well your “grumpy pop” is doing, and the teams in ED, MAU and Colyer Ward will be genuinely touched to know their care helped him through such a challenging time.

He certainly sounds like a tough man, and I can only imagine how worrying this must have been for your family. Knowing that the care he received brought him comfort and clarity means a great deal to all of us.

Your kind words about the support he received — from ED through to his time on the wards — are greatly appreciated. I am pleased to be able share this with the whole team, as I know it will be truly valued. Our kitchen staff will be especially chuffed to hear they passed his taste test.

I’m so glad he’s home now and feeling better. Please pass on our warmest wishes as he continues his recovery and thank you again for taking the time to acknowledge everyone involved in his care. It really does make a difference.

Kind regards

Dear Fifster2011

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I was very sorry to hear about the severe pain your elderly relative experienced, and I understand how distressing it can be when a loved one who is usually well becomes suddenly unwell and required care in the Emergency Department.

It was pleasing to hear that our staff were able to assist in clarifying and managing his health concerns during what would have been a difficult time.

Your kind words are greatly appreciated, and it will be a pleasure to share your feedback with the Royal Perth Hospital Emergency Department, who I know will value it.

While I am sorry to hear he continues to face some ongoing challenges, it is encouraging to know that he is now looking much better. I wish him continued improvement.

Kind regards,

Ben Noteboom
