"28 y.o male with Atrial Fibrillation"

About: POWH Community Assessment Unit

(as the patient),

I presented to the hospital with a sudden onset of atrial fibrillation which was frightening given I am young, fit, and have no prior cardiac history. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely supported, listened to, and taken seriously.

The nursing staff were exceptional - calm, attentive, and genuinely caring. They consistently checked in, explained what was happening and went above and beyond to ensure myself & my partner were comfortable, reassured, and informed throughout a very stressful experience.

The doctors were outstanding - highly knowledgeable, patient, and thorough. Every test and decision was clearly explained, questions were welcomed, and I never once felt rushed or dismissed. I felt I was in the safest possible hands.

Thanks to the careful monitoring and expert care, my heart rhythm reverted back to normal after 2 nights without the need for invasive intervention. I left the hospital feeling grateful, reassured, and incredibly appreciative of the level of care provided. I think this was truly world-class healthcare and I cannot thank the entire team enough.
