"Sir. Charles Gardiner Hospital and doctors and staff"

About: Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital

(as the patient),

Early December I went to hospital to have right little finger straightened.  When I arrived I asked if I could change my mind and have it partially amputated and have it done under local instead of GA.    Instead of treating me like a deranged old person who seem to act as if this was the hairdresser and I wanted a different style or colour they treated me with respect and professionalism.  After many. discussions with doctors, anaethetists and nurses, the operation went ahead as I wanted.

The post op dressings and therapy staff have also been outstanding.  Every staff member, I met , was kind and left me feeling so grateful I live in a country where I could receive such wonderful treatment in a public hospital.

Again my admiration and gratitude to the Doctors in the Plastics department, the anaethethistists, (particularly the lady who dealt with me in the Short stay unit) the nurses in Short Stay unit, theatre, recovery and all who treated for me in dressings and therapy.  I think you all deserve a pay rise.

A small postscript. I think that Dr Dirck not only a great doctor but has wonderful taste in Socks.!
