"Birth of my 2nd baby"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

For my second baby I was lucky enough to go through the MGP4/5/A, Chloe was my midwife and from my first meeting she made me feel comfortable, reassured and like there was no question or concern I couldn’t bring to her.

We went into this pregnancy with low expectations, given a high number of recurrent miscarriages in the previous year. Chloe was fantastic at getting me excited and focussed on all the positives, while at the same time talking me through possible warnings to look out for and always encouraging me phone or pop in if ever I was concerned.

Due to lowering of amniotic fluid, my c-section needed to be brought forward so unfortunately Chloe wasn’t at the delivery of our son, but this had been planned for and during my time with the program I had met other midwives so I was familiar with whoever was with me on the day.

Emma was the incredible midwife who helped bring our son into the world.

The follow up care I received from Chloe was fantastic. Again I felt so reassured but also very prepared in different symptoms and possible warning signs to look out for. I was so upset to say goodbye to Chloe but so happy with our time together and know that it’s time for her to go and help another lucky mummy to be.

Dear fornaxrq58,

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide such positive feedback regarding your experience with Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) and congratulations on the birth of your baby.

I am delighted to hear that Chloe was able to get you excited about this pregnancy while also acknowledging the fear and grief previous miscarriages bring. It was wonderful to read that Chloe was so reassuring and ensured you were well prepared with all the important information.

Although Chloe was unable to be at the birth it was great to see you had met with other MGP midwives and Emma was able to be that familiar face for you. How lovely you were able to reunite with Chloe postpartum.

It is clear that Chloe and the MGP team had such a positive impact on your care, and I will be sure to pass on your kind words of appreciation.

Wishing you and your family all the best,

Melinda
