Recently I attended MPHS for my child's immunisation & check up with the child health nurse. I pressed the door bell to be let into the facility and waited outside in the 38 degree heat for 8mins prior to getting in when another patient opened the door to exit the facility.
At no point was the door opened by a worker. At no point was I approached by a healthcare worker whilst waiting in the waiting room for our child health nurse appointment. There was no one in the front office to inform the child health nurse of our arrival.
I felt very unsettled about not have the doorbell answered, thinking 'what if I was needing the emergency department & no one answers the door or phone...' it cant be relied on having the door opened from the inside by another patient exiting the facility.
I believe this needs immediate review before something terrible happens to someone in the community seeking professional, medical attention.
