"PATS reimbursement"

About: Patient Assisted Travel Scheme - WACHS Midwest

(as a service user),

I’ve been told today that’s it’s a 12 week wait to be reimbursed for PATS.

I think that’s absolutely shocking, there are so many people that are reliant on that money especially with the cost of living.

Do better!

Dear Annoyed92,

Thank you for sharing your feedback on Care Opinion.

I would like to sincerely apologise for the extended wait that yourself and other members of the community have experienced with your PATS reimbursements.

I would like to acknowledge the tireless work the PATS team are doing to ensure the community receive their reimbursements as promptly as possible. The factors influencing the delays are completely outside of their control and I am extremely proud of the endeavours they are making.

As PATS Coordinator for the Midwest I can confirm that every avenue has been explored to clear the backlog and we shall continue to explore any possible option that will allow us to get the reimbursements back to the community who need them during these financially challenging times. We have already made some headway into the backlog with the grateful assistance of staff from other sites and regions and there are ongoing attempts at further recruitment to the PATS team.

If you would like to contact me, I can investigate the status of your reimbursements and discuss your concerns in more detail. My name is Di Franklin, I am the Acting Director Population Health. I can be contacted on 9956 1962 or 0427 479 297.

Thank you again for reaching out and I do hope to hear from you.

Kind regards

Di Franklin
