"Phone consultation"

About: Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital

(as the patient),

I had an MRI, phone consultation booked for 2 days later from a private number.

I didn't really take notice of the "Private Number" instructions, thinking it would just come up as "Private Number" on my phone.

This was a mistake, sitting by phone all day as I was informed that I'd get call 2/3 hours before consultation.

No phone call occurred,or so I thought.

My new phone has a block scam unsolicited calls application, which I didn't know about.

After a number of calls back and forth,a waste of time for the staff and myself and frustrating for both,I now have to wait for another consultation.

How many times does this happen and how many missed appointments are lost.

Hopefully,I think I fixed problem with phone now.

I feel this system needs to made user friendly for all ,staff and patients.

Staff were very understanding but their hands were tied....

Dear pilingsgc44,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience on Care Opinion. I can only imagine how frustrating and inconvenient it must have been for you to miss your MRI phone consultation because your new phone blocked the call as unsolicited.

While we haven’t previously received feedback about this particular issue, your experience highlights something that could easily affect others. I’ve shared your feedback with the Radiology Team so they can review what happened and consider whether there are additional steps we can take to help prevent similar situations in the future.

Kind regards,

Jodi Graham
