"MGP Experience at KHC"

My review is only 1 year late (courtesy of sleep deprivation).

Thank you to all of the wonderful ladies at the KHC Midwifery unit, my experience was so incredible. I have such lovely memories of my pregnancy and birth experience. I highly recommend the MGP through KHC, in my experience the ladies in the MGP are so loving and caring, willing to go above and beyond to ensure patients are informed and have control over their experience. Special thanks to Leah and Kahla for all your reassurance and support on my journey. 

I attempted a VBAC in January 2025 of which I decided to opt for a c section during labour as I personally wasn't happy with how things were progressing and I saw similar patterns to my first birth which I was not willing to repeat. The midwives were so supportive and encouraged me to continue trying for a VBAC as my obs were good however I was adamant on a c section. 

All the staff on the day of my sons birth were amazing (baby was born at 0616 on 26 Jan 2025) the midwives, OB, anesthetist all empowered and supported me to make educated decisions surrounding my birth and for that I cannot thank them enough. I truly believe the support from all the staff contributed to a physically and mentally sound recovery and a successful breastfeeding experience.

I suffered severe post natal depression with my first born due to poor care in another hospital and a very unexpected emergency c section. This time around I didn't even get the baby blues.... Thank you for giving me a healing birth of which I never expected to have with a repeat c section
