"Care at Fremantle Hospital"

About: Fremantle Hospital and Health Service

(as the patient),

I have stayed at Fremantle Hospital, 8B North.

Just as I have written on Care Opinion about any negative episodes in my Care, I would also like to write about my positive experiences being treated at Fremantle Hospital.

On my Admission, I was quite distressed because I didn't know what the plan would be, however, the Nurse in duty calmed me down, as well as the Physiotherapist - Jimmy who was on on the weekend, and the two doctors on duty.

I was treated extremely respectfully by the Orthopaedic Team during my stay . They explained my treatment and were very reassuring.

The Nurses were Amazing, particularly the regular Nurses I came to know. The Nurse who organised my admission a couple of weeks ago,  and discharge was so kind and hard working. She gave consistently respectful care.

The other Nurses, as said before, were also just beautiful people, who work hard with a smile. I want to give a Thanks to the Night shift Nurses who had to wake me up for my IV antibiotics and Obs.

Thankyou to the wonderful Patient Service Assistants who always greet the Patients with a smile and a quick chat. Never underestimate how important you all are.

Thankyou to Gary, another Patient Services Assistant who is so respectful to the Patients and has a quick chat and joke for everyone.

Thankyou also to the O.T and Physiotherapists for getting me moving.

Thankyou.

Kind Regards

Dear bracecb48,

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughtful feedback following your recent stay on 8B North at Fremantle Hospital. We are pleased to hear how the nurse on duty, the physiotherapist, and the medical team were able to reassure you during what was initially a distressing admission.

Your kind words about the Orthopaedic Team’s respectful communication, the nursing staff’s consistent support, and the friendly care provided by our Patient Service Assistants, including Gary, are greatly appreciated.

This is the high level of care for our patients that we strive for across our services. It is wonderful to know their compassion and professionalism made such a positive difference to your stay. This is the high level of care we strive to provide across all of our services.

We have passed your feedback onto the Nurse Unit Manager of B8 North to share with her team and the Allied Health staff involved in your care.

I also wanted to let you know we are accepting nominations for the 2026 Compassionate Care Awards which recognises our staff that have provided kind, compassionate care and helped you have a positive experience. You can visit https://pipsmhs.health.wa.gov.au/smhs-compassionate-care-awards-2026 for more information and to submit a nomination if you wish.

Luke Dix
