"Amazing support from Bentley MBC"

About: Bentley Hospital / RPBG Midwifery Birth Centre

(as the patient),

I had an amazing experience with the Midwives at the Bentley Midwifery Birthing Centre (MBC).

This is a relatively new birth centre that accepts women with low risk pregnancies and are wanting to have a more natural birth. I constantly felt supported by the midwives. They gave me the information I needed and empowered me to make informed decisions and never pressured me into doing anything or taking a certain path. I had regular visits and scans and they always erred on the side of caution when there was potential to be a issue. The centre has two brand new birthing suites including baths, which is great if you are wanting a water birth.

My birth experience was fantastic, albeit a fast one. But the midwives were super encouraging and gave me the support I needed to successfully birth my baby with no issues. I felt safe and supported at all times, but also still in control. The communication of what to expect was fantastic, although this was my second birth, they didn't make the assumption that I knew everything already, but instead asked what info I needed refreshing on or any information in general that I required. They also provided fantastic post-partum support with regular visits (as required) for up to 6 weeks after birth. In addition to this one of the midwives was a qualified lactation consultant which allowed me to get the support I needed with breastfeeding, without needing to book an appointment elsewhere and wait etc. There was also no pressure to immediately jump to formula, they instead worked me through many other options which allowed me to continue breastfeeding with no issues. The MBC has the added benefit of continuity of care which meant I could build a rapport with one midwife and she would be my main support during birth. This was certainly the case and helped make me feel more comfortable. There were other midwives in the team I also engaged with too at various times and all were kind, supportive, knowledgeable and genuinely great people to deal with.

I would highly recommend to other ladies with low risk pregnancies to consider birthing at the Bentley MBC for a more natural and less medical birth without having to pay the high price of hiring a midwife to birth at home.

Dear zebraen34,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your recent experience at the Bentley Midwifery Birth Centre (MBC). We are truly delighted to hear how positive and supported you felt throughout your pregnancy, birth, and post‑partum journey.

Your reflections on the continuity of care, communication, and the genuine compassion of the team mean a great deal to us.

We are also pleased that the environment and the care contributed to such a positive birthing experience for you. The midwives do appreciate your kind words, and your feedback will be shared with them and the broader team.
