"Referral for lumbar punction changed to neuro consult"

My GP referred me to NIISWA to get a lumbar puncture to rule out MS and CIDP as I’ve been dealing with debilitating symptoms for a long time. I rang the clinic to follow up about my referral and was told my referral had been redirected to RPH and when I asked why the receptionist couldn’t tell me any information which was really unhelpful so I then rang RPH and they said it’s been sent to midland.

I rang midland only to be told there’s no referral for a lumbar puncture it’s to wait to see a neurologist. Well I’ve already seen a neurologist and they dismissed me and my symptoms but I have no idea why my referral has turned into a neuro consult and not a lumbar puncture like my Gp requested.

Now I’m frustrated and going round in circles getting nowhere with debilitating daily symptoms and struggling. Really disappointed with NIISWA as everyone says they are so good - their online website says they do LP but for some unknown reason I guess my referral was declined?! With no explanation as to myself or my GP which is a joke! nobody would want a LP if they didn’t need one and nor would my GP refer me if they didn’t feel it was necessary.
