I joined the Karratha Midwifery Group Practice later in my pregnancy. The standard of care I received as a patient greatly improved. I felt that I was no longer just a number in the system, but rather an expectant mother whose care truly mattered.
I was paired with a midwife, Sheree, who tailored her care to suit my personality, as well as my needs and preferences throughout the pregnancy. She was warm, compassionate, and knowledgeable about navigating the healthcare system. As a new immigrant, the system is still quite new to me, so being part of the Midwifery Group Practice with Sheree made me feel as though I had someone on the inside of the system advocating for and supporting me
Sheree turned what could have been a stressful experience into one that was calm, informative, and nurturing.
The birth and postnatal care were handled expertly by the diligent, knowledgeable, and intuitive midwives, Emer and Laura.
I felt I was in the safest and calmest of hands.
