I Moved into Carinya Transition House in Wollongong in late February and felt immediately welcome and safe. Jess, who looks after us here has been fantastic to deal with, helping in ways I didn't know I needed help with. Just little things like sending me a link to a Buddhist recovery group website (which I now participate in) to sitting and listening to my story and making helpful suggestions to guide me into my new life as a Uni student and recovering addict. The fact I am held accountable for my own actions is refreshing as I am a fairly independent person. Honesty and openness is encouraged so I can express my thoughts well. The house runs very smoothly with enough space and privacy for the group living here to all get along well. The food is great, we are close to amenities and public transport. Being easily able to study here is an unexpected bonus, the last place I was in I had to go to the library for any study making for long days. We are given just the right amount of freedom so I don't feel overwhelmed. My time so far has really made me appreciate Jess and the Lives Lived Well team and enterprise. I feel very fortunate to have been given the opportunity to live in such a wonderful place. Based on my experience I couldn't recommend Carinya or Jess more highly to anyone in my situation.
