"The care I received after breaking my neck"

About: Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital

(as the patient),

After taking a bit of a tumble I unfortunately broke my neck. I had to go to hospital to get it all sorted out.

The nurses of G53 ward in Charles Gardiner were phenomenal. It’s hard to put into words how well cared for I felt by them. They kept me in the loop with everything that was going on, the good and the bad. They would laugh at my terrible jokes and kept me smiling even though my future was really still up in the air. When all you can look at is the ceiling they would come in with a smile and just make your day. They found me a charger so I could keep in contact with my friends and family while going through this experience.

I could also overhear their interactions with other patients and you could tell they really cared about their patients. It showed through in everything they said and did when interacting with us.

All in all they are a fantastic bunch of human beings and if I was to do this all over again I’d certainly choose to hang out on their ward again.
