Hospital swimming pool

To Whom It May Concern:

I am very unhappy about the fact that we no longer have a hospital swimming pool at Albany Hospital in WA.

I believe there is a large population of elderly people in Albany who would benefit enormously from a Hospital Pool. I myself would, and I would use it as often as I could. I am sure all my friends would as well.

I last heard that the cost of imported tiles was preventing the go ahead of the repair due to a high cost. I am sure most people would not mind if the tiles were not from Italy.

Albany is a very large regional Centre which I feel needs a swimming pool. I think all other services in Albany are excellent and I am very proud of our Hospital and it’s staff.

I would be most grateful to hear your comments on where we are at with the repair of our pool, or at the worst a rebuild.

Thank you for reaching out via Care Opinion with your question about the Hydrotherapy Pool on the Albany Health Campus. We can confirm that a feasibility study of the Hydrotherapy pool space has been completed and that the report and recommendations are under review. Community groups were consulted during the feasibility study. Once a decision has been finalised, all stakeholders, including community groups, will be notified.
