"Great Care at PCH ED"

I attended the PCH ED with my five year old recently which was a busy Friday night.  It was very busy and there were lots of sick children and worried parents.  Despite the busyness, I believe every single staff I saw was doing their best to ensure that families knew what was happening in their care, and checked on them frequently and always with understanding and compassion.  Great effort was made to ensure the kids knew what was happening as well.

Our nurse, Tracey working in fast track, was exceptional- even when she came into the waiting room to see other families, she always checked on us, made sure we knew the plan and had everything we needed in the moment. She was calm and kind which is what everyone needs in that moment.  She explained what was happening to my son in a way he could understand and always gave him time to ask questions that he had.  

The RMO, Steph, was also wonderful and we appreciated her honesty and compassion around the plan and potential wait.  She was thorough and child-centred.
