"Our experience in Carine"

About: Carine Parkside Care Community

(as a friend),

Yes, they provide a lovely tour showing the beautiful furnishing, everything shiny and clean within view. But I feel that's where is stops. Please read all the 1 star google reviews before leaving your loved one there. I feel that management does not take accountability for the seeming lack of clinical care, personal care and infection control. The Aged Care Act states that you should be feel safe to raise questions or complaints without reprisal. I feel this is not so for Carine. In my opinion, food is terrible. It seems to me that Extra Services costs a bomb and not delivered. The activities offered are, in my opinion, boring. Who wants bingo 3 times a week? I feel there's no sense of genuine warmth shown be most staff towards residents. Meal times are supposed to be fine dining and enjoyable. Far from it - you can wait half an hour for a piece of toast. Hopefully you like "icecream and topping" or "topping and icecream" for dessert because it's what you'll get each evening. Please, based on my experience, speak to families in the carpark for an honest opinion before sending anyone there to live their final precious years.

Please note this response has published by Care Opinion Australia on behalf of Carine Parkside Care Community.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We value hearing from residents and families and take all concerns seriously.

We certainly are accountable for all clinical care and our care team is present throughout the Care Community each day, with clearly identified nurses’ stations and call bells available at all times. Call bell response times are monitored daily to ensure support is provided promptly.

Our in home chef provides a daily variation on the menu and we would welcome the opportunity to discuss how you feel this might be improved. You can contact us at carineparkside@opalhealthcare.com.au.

We encourage our residents to enjoy shared dining and activities for connection and companionship, while always respecting individual preferences and choices so please discuss with us activities that your loved one might enjoy.

Kind regards,

Joanne - GM
