"Guest Speaking at our Support Group."

I run an Information and Support Group for family members and carers of people with Huntington Disease. Maria has been generous enough to attend our group twice, after hours, once last year, and once just recently. 

During the first group, Maria gave a beautiful presentation to our members about Palliative Care. The members were so positively affected by a talk that had the potential to leave them bereft and vulnerable, they requested she return again to discuss Advanced Care Planning.

 

On the evening, Maria did just that, presenting another beautiful, meaningful, compassionate and informative talk to our members. 

Every one of our members commented on how wonderful Maria is, and how generous she is about sharing her own grief and loss journeys with them. Maria's willingness to tell her own story made our group members feel instantly understood, and as a result, fully open to hearing Maria's words. 

I cannot thank Maria enough for taking time out of her insanely busy schedule to share and speak to our community. Her attendance at our groups is a gift that will leave an indelible impression on our members.
