"Dislocated left shoulder"

About: Bridgetown Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

Hi approximately 6 weeks ago I unfortunately dislocated my shoulder ( left) I was in extreme pain and had an ambulance transport myself the 5 minute ride to Bridgetown Hospital.

Approximately 2am i arrived and was assessed by Nursing staff. As I understand it, the Hospital had no known emergency cases except myself.  The on call Gp came to see me 8 hours after arriving at Bridgetown Hospital.  Im not certain why I wasn't transferred to Bunbury regional Hospital 1 hour away wich could of xrayed my shoulder then put the shoulder back in place.  At 11am after a long night of suffering horrible cramps and pain, the xray was done confirming what most staff suspected was a dislocated shoulder.  I feel that this situation could and should have been resolved much faster as there was no reason for any delay that ive been made aware of. I feel that I may have been subjected to a bias situation as it seems that nothing was going to be done until the xray was completed.  Because I feel that I was judged as either seeking assistance for something that was believed not true ???.

The damage is terrible all 4 tendons are destroyed, nerve damage and constant tingling and numbness to the skin. With horrible episodes of aching for hours at a time.  I believe I should have been emediately transferred to Bunbury and the situation corrected.  I dont want anyone ever to go through the frustrating experience I had ever!

thank you.
