I am a disabled person in my 50's from Esperance, WA. I am a right leg amputee and travel to Perth annually for maintenance or fitting of prosthetics. The last two times I have requested PATS I have been declined by Esperance office. The reason given was that "Amputees only get one trip to Perth. After fitting of initial limb all subsequent travel is not eligible". Is this a new rule?
I have paid the last two trips in 2024 and 2026 myself because of this. I think this decision needs appealing. My clinic (TLC Belmont) tells me that other regional patients have no issue claiming. I also have a 20 year history of using PATS for trips.
