I am writing to express my sincere thanks & positive feedback for the care I received during the birth of my daughter on 12 November 2025.
Although the experience became more complex than expected, I felt very well supported throughout. The calm, professional and compassionate approach of the entire team made a significant difference to both myself and my husband during an unknown & stressful time.
I would particularly like to acknowledge OB Consultant Dr James, and Registrar Dr Meg, who performed my caesarean. I was able to return to the gym by 8 weeks postpartum, and my scar has healed really well. I also appreciated her taking the time to check on me the following day, her genuine care for me was very appreciated.
I would also like to recognise Dr Shayda, the anaesthetist, who was exceptional. I am anxious with needles, and her calm and reassuring manner made the cannulation process much easier. When it became clear that I required an emergency caesarean, knowing she would be there was very reassuring. She communicated clearly throughout the procedure, and took the time to check on my baby girl while she was being cared for by the NICU team in theatre. She went above and beyond for me.
My husband and I often reflect on the birth and feel very thankful for the amazing care we received. As a someone myself who also works in the public health system, I am aware that feedback is often only provided when negative, so I wanted to take the opportunity to acknowledge the high standard of care provided.
Thank you for ensuring the safe arrival of our daughter, and for the care shown to me throughout.
Kind regards
