Recently I brought my child in for a blood test. We were taken into a room with a staff member. The staff member tried to take blood but was unable to and immediately sought out someone that could help.
The new staff member was amazing but unfortunately they noticed that the kidney dish that the sterile needle, blood tubes etc were in, had someone else's blood in there. When the staff member went to clean it, the first staff member said "oh are you picking on my blood dots in the tray" to which the new staff member said "I hope its this child's blood". I said no it isnt. The new staff member quickly threw out all equipment in the tray, cleaned it and got fresh stuff but im not happy with the fact that the first staff member knew the dish was contaminated but still put stuff in there to use on another patient. How can I be sure contamination hasn't happened. What was in the blood left in the tray.... how is this ok?
Immediately response is required, please.
