"Staff Interactions"

About: Collie Hospital

(as the patient),

I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding the conduct of front reception staff during recent visits.

Over the past two weeks, I have attended the hospital on three occasions. On each visit, I experienced a lack of basic courtesy and professionalism at reception. I was not greeted on arrival, and when I asked questions, I felt as though I was an inconvenience rather than a patient requiring assistance.

I believe this standard of service is not acceptable in a healthcare environment. Reception staff are the first point of contact and play a critical role in setting the tone for patient care. At a minimum, I believe patients should be acknowledged, treated respectfully, and assisted appropriately.

I have previously experienced a much higher standard of service from a staff member named Michelle, who consistently demonstrated professionalism and a welcoming attitude. I feel my recent experiences fall well short of that standard.

I trust this feedback will be taken seriously and used to improve the patient experience at reception.

Dear Concerned Patient,

Thank you sincerely for sharing your experience when interacting with reception staff recently at Collie Hospital. Thank you also for the positive feedback you have regarding your interactions with Michelle.

When attending hospital, it is vital that all patients and visitors are welcomed with empathy, understanding, kindness, assistance and calm, clear communication. I am very sorry to hear this has not been your experience. This is not the standard expected or that the Hospital is striving for. Please be assured your feedback is very important, is taken seriously and will be used to improve the experience for patients and visitors.

My name is Jeremy and my phone number is: 0438 062 341. I am happy for further input and to discuss my ideas on improving the care experience you have described.

Sincerely,

Jeremy Higgins

District Director

WACHS, Inland Southwest
