Pain in lower stomach on 4th December 2025 which resulted in a kidney stone and spent time in ED and surgical ward 2. Stent put in as stone had perforated the wall of the kidney as it escaped. Sent home and 3 days later I experienced stomach pains again which I had been experiencing for 18 months. Back into ED again and rushed to theatre as a tumour on the bladder was discovered. Tumour was removed and I spent 2 weeks in ICU. At all times during these 2 visits to the hospital the care and attention I received from the doctors in neurology and the nurses in ED, ICU and Surgical ward 2 was impeccable and I cannot speak highly enough of all the services I received whilst in hospital.
I was discharged on 23rd December 2025.
Unfortunately I experienced more pain and was admitted back to hospital a few days later. This time for a kidney infection which became quite a task for the neurology team to treat and it was not until February that I was discharged.
Thanks to the medical staff at the hospital I am now in complete recovery due to their efforts in treating me for the various illnesses I experienced over 3 months. As an 82 year old I was very concerned at what was happening to me but the care and attention I received relieved my concerns and I will be forever thankful to all the departments I mentioned.
