"Hand / knife injury"

About: Sydney / Sydney Eye Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I had an incredibly positive experience at Sydney Hand and I Hospital following an accident where I dropped a knife into the middle of my finger. At the time, I was genuinely worried I may have severed a tendon, so it was a very stressful situation.

From the moment I arrived, the entire team was exceptional. The nurses, surgeons, and hand specialists were calm, kind, and highly professional throughout the entire process. Everything was handled in a clear, structured, and efficient way, which made a difficult situation feel manageable.

A special mention to Lilly, the surgeon, who was outstanding. Her skill, precision, and confidence were immediately evident, and I felt completely safe in her care. I’m incredibly grateful for the outcome—after assessing the injury, the team found minimal internal damage and confirmed the tendon was not affected. They were able to fully repair my hand, and I made a full recovery within just a couple of weeks.

Elena, Dylan, Flo, and Lauren were all equally impressive—calm, supportive, and accommodating the entire time. Their professionalism and bedside manner made a real difference.

Jasmine, the hand rehab specialist, was fantastic in the final stage of recovery. She brought a calm, compassionate approach and helped ensure everything healed properly.

Overall, I feel extremely fortunate to have been treated by such an incredible team. The level of care, expertise, and compassion I experienced was outstanding, and I can’t thank the hospital enough.
