"Disabled parking"

About: Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital

(as a service user),

I turned up to SCGH today to fing the ACROD parking spaces are now ambulance and police spaces, obviously due to the renovation.

What I did not find was any notice about this. I follow NMHS facebook page which is essentially 90% nurses and doctors stories. How about also using it to connect with the public, like advertising whats closed off.

Dear lionxh78,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on Care Opinion.

Due to the Emergency Department redevelopment, the Main Entrance doors and Piazza at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital are currently closed to all vehicles and pedestrians for an extended period. As part of these works, some parking arrangements have changed, including the temporary repurposing of spaces.

To help accommodate visitors and patients, a limited number of 15‑minute drop‑off bays and ACROD bays are available adjacent to the Piazza area.

Thank you for your suggestion regarding the use of our social media pages to share updates about parking and site access. We appreciate this feedback and recognise the importance of clear, accessible communication, particularly given the size of the campus and the ongoing impact of works.

We do aim to provide up‑to‑date information on our website. Current works and their impact on access and parking are outlined here:
Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital – Emergency Department Redevelopment

In addition, the Visiting Us section of our website includes a campus map showing ACROD bays located across the site.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve how we communicate information with patients and the community.

Kind regards,

Renee de Prazer
