I had the best birth possible thanks to the Community Midwifery Program available through KEMH. This was my second home birth and I cannot recommend the program enough. The continuity of support I received during my pregnancy, birth and after birth was invaluable and I believe all pregnant women should have access to this support model.
My midwife Kirsten was very supportive and informative throughout my pregnancy and made me feel at ease during my pregnancy and birth. My birth experience was calm and peaceful in the comfort of my home. Kirsten let me do my thing during labour and allowed me to trust that my body knew what it was doing.
The care I received after birth was also very much appreciated, with the midwives visiting daily to ensure I was on the path to recovery and everything was going well with breastfeeding.
I am extremely thankful for the support of the CMP midwives and hope more women become aware of this positive service.
