"Wait time at Emergency Department"

About: Joondalup Health Campus / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

In my experience, every time you go there they have waiting periods of 10 hours. Went there on Thursday because I was dizzy and unstable on my feet for four days long with blackouts they didn't really looked concerned and didn't even took my blood pressure. I sat there for 3 hours and they told me it would probably be another 6 hours before they could help me. I just decided to leave was so tired and disorientated. In my opinion, this is unexecptable medical treatment for people that need medical attention is still feel dizzy and unstable but are to scared to go back there.

Dear charazm99

Thank you for sharing your story.

I am sorry to hear of your experience when you attended the Emergency Department (ED) at Joondalup Health Campus (JHC). We would like to acknowledge how distressing the extended wait must have been for you whilst you were feeling so unwell. It is disappointing to read that you have left the hospital feeling that your presentation was not taken seriously, as this is not the standard of care we aim to provide to our many patients that present to our hospitals ED daily.

We would be more than happy to further discuss your concerns with if you would like to be in contact with the consumer liaison department at consumerliaison.jhc@ramsayhealth.com.au.

Regards

David Dineen
