"Care at RPH"

About: Royal Perth Hospital

(as a relative),

Last week my brother, who was in his final stages of Lung Cancer, was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital as he was declining quickly and was very confused and disoriented.

He was first on Level 5 Acute Assessment and then moved to Level 9.  He passed away on Friday night.

The care shown by the Consultants ( I just remember Dr Sophie's name, but there was another lovely Consultant and the care shown to him and my Mother and I was just amazing and makes me emotional thinking about it.

Everyone at RPH were so kind and respectful - the way they explained everything to family and the way they spoke so kindly and respectfully to my brother even when he was unconscious and they had to change and roll him etc.

Nothing was too much trouble for the Nurses, even making coffee and tea for my Mum and I and bringing back biscuits

Thankyou so very much for your compassion and kindness. It meant so much at such a stressful time and we were so so appreciative.

My Brother died peacefully in dignity which I feel your care contributed largely to.

Thankyou!

Dear bracecb48,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us during such a profoundly difficult time.

We are deeply sorry for the loss of your brother. On behalf of Royal Perth Hospital, please accept our heartfelt condolences to you, your mother, and your family. It means a great deal to hear that the care provided by our teams on Level 5 and Level 9 helped bring some comfort during his final days.

Your kind words about Dr Sophie, the Consultant team, and our nursing staff will be shared with them. They will be truly touched to know that their compassion, respect, and dedication made such a meaningful difference to your brother and your family. Treating every patient with dignity, and supporting loved ones through these moments, is at the heart of what we strive to do every day.

We are especially grateful that you highlighted the small acts of kindness shown. These moments matter, and your feedback reminds us just how important they are.

Thank you again for entrusting us with your brother’s care. We are honoured to have been able to support him, and you, during this time.

Kind Regards,

Ben Noteboom
