About: Lives Lived Well – Nowra (Nana Muru)

(as a service user),

I was drinking a year ago not realizing i was so ill i nearly died.

I went to Sub Acute mental health unit for a month after a week of detox in hospital. Assessment in Sub Acute said my mental health was fine. I then went to LLW day rehab for a month since then, for a whole year i kept giving into alcohol though no where near as ill &having breaks in-between.

I binge when i do drink. 5 weeks ago, i had a liter of Vodka went crazy went to hospital &got knocked out with some drug they gave me. The next day i had a mental health assessment before hospital would let me go home. it was just the vodka that made me crazy & haven't had that Smirnoff brand again.

As I'm writing this, it is my last day of LLW which has helped tremendously this time around. LLW has helped with my anxiety stress & get my life back on track, Aswell as a lot of information & been told straight about my way of thinking. It changed my attitude towards my life.

Hello,

Thank you for your post and for being so vulnerable with your sharing.

I am glad you have found the program at Nana Maru helpful and it sound like you have learnt a lot during your time with service.

Your experiences of being supported and educated hits home for me and I am sure it will for many others.

Keep up the great work, and remember to reach out to our team anytime.

Thanks again for sharing,

Kris
