"Our experience"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

Our primary midwife Bri and her buddy midwife Kate from MGP provided exceptional care, kindness, and support throughout our pregnancy, labour, birth, and postnatal journey. From our very first appointments through to the precious first days at home with our son, we consistently felt safe, supported, informed, and genuinely cared for.

As first-time parents, Bri’s calm and reassuring manner, combined with her extensive knowledge and professionalism, gave us enormous confidence throughout pregnancy and labour. She consistently ensured we felt heard and involved in decision-making processes, always approaching our care with compassion, patience, and understanding. During labour and delivery, Bri went above and beyond in the support she provided to both myself and our son, including her unwavering dedication throughout an overnight labour. Her commitment, empathy, and professionalism during such an important and vulnerable time were truly outstanding.

Kate continued this exceptional standard of care during the postnatal period. Her calm and reassuring presence during those first days at home made an enormous difference to our transition into parenthood. Kate consistently demonstrated warmth, patience, compassion, and extensive knowledge, and her guidance and encouragement gave us so much confidence as new parents learning how to care for our son.

Together, Bri, Kate, and all the other health care professionals we encountered whilst at King Eddie’s created an experience where we always felt respected, listened to, informed, and supported. The care they provided exceeded all expectations, and we are incredibly grateful for the role they played in bringing our son safely into the world and supporting our little family during such a significant life transition.
