"Colposcopy in OPD"

About: Karratha Health Campus / Outpatients & Day Treatment

(as the patient),

Last December, I went to Karratha Health Campus for a colposcopy appointment with Dr Rajeev, who is my consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. I felt nervous before the check-up because I didn’t really know what to expect, and hospitals have always made me anxious. Sitting in the waiting room, my mind kept running through different thoughts and worries.

When Dr Rajeev called me in, he spoke calmly and professionally, which helped ease some of my fears. He carefully explained the procedure and made sure I understood why the colposcopy was necessary. Even though I still felt uncomfortable and tense, I appreciated how patient, respectful, and reassuring he was throughout the appointment.

The procedure itself was not easy emotionally. I felt vulnerable during the examination, but I kept reminding myself that it was important for my health and wellbeing. The nurse at Karratha Health Campus was gentle and supportive, helping me stay calm and comfortable as much as possible. There were moments when I wished for it to end quickly, but I stayed strong and managed to get through it.

I would like to sincerely thank Dr Rajeev and the nurse who assisted him during my procedure. Their kindness, professionalism, patience, and reassurance helped make a difficult experience much more bearable for me. I truly appreciate the care and support they gave me during such a vulnerable moment, and I will always be grateful for how they treated me with compassion and respect.
