"Birth, emergency c section and after care"

I can't speak highly enough of the incredible holistic, patient-centred care that both my newborn and I received at Leongatha Hospital. From the midwives throughout my pregnancy, to Dr Sam providing prenatal care in the community, and through to receiving an emergency (and very scary) C-section in hospital and the associated aftercare, the support and professionalism were outstanding.

The calibre of the medical staff and nursing expertise throughout the situation resulted in an incredible outcome and the best possible recovery. There were multiple very serious complications for both of us, all of which were expertly and calmly managed. We then stayed for three nights and were encouraged to remain as long as we needed in order to recover. The overnight care from the midwives was incredible and allowed me to rest. The food was fabulous, and the facility staff were so kind and friendly. The rooms are spacious and filled with natural light.

I feel so blessed to have had the experience I did with the staff who cared for us. A massive heartfelt thank you to the entire maternity department — Dayna, Chantel, Sarah, Stacey, Dr Sam, Louise, Heather, Christine, Jill, Gill, and all of the kitchen and cleaning staff.

I also don't know how to put into words the gratitude I have for the experienced and incredible doctors who managed my care in theatre. Please know how wonderful you all are — Dr Elyse, Dr Andy, Dr Sewellyn, Dr Chris , Dr Carolin , who even popped in to offer support, along with nurses and midwives Louise, Lynda, Laura, and the fabulous theatre team.

Please know what a massive difference every single one of you has made to my life and experience. Our son's birth could have been tragic, and you all changed that outcome.
