"Telehealth in ED"

About: Bridgetown Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

Presented at Bridgetown hospital, the nurses were very lovely and helpful and very thorough with their tests. Had a telehealth doctor assess results and request a second set be completed in an hour. Second set of obs and tests completed and doctor phoned back.

The doctor spoke to me for a few minutes and then said they needed to phone the nurses in the office to make sure my blood was being tested for something before it got thrown out. The doctor told me they were going to mute themselves and call the nurses, unfortunately they did not mute themselves and I heard the doctor telling the nurses that they thought my condition was psychosomatic, I was having a psychotic episode and they could see me getting visibly upset. I strongly disagree with the point that I was getting more upset, I was struggling to breathe more because I was trying to answer the doctor's questions. They then proceeded to tell the nurses that because I’ve had two laparoscopies with no sign of endometriosis, that was probably in my head to.

I believe this was incredibly unprofessional and upsetting to hear. Particularly because I wasn’t even presenting with anything to do with my pelvic pain that has been being investigated.

I feel that this was an unfair diagnosis and the shortness of breath is being properly investigated by local GPs.
