"Thank you Dalwallinu Hospital"

About: Dalwallinu Health Service / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

On Wednesday, 20 May 2026, I was feeling very unwell and presented to the Emergency Department at Dalwallinu Hospital.

From the moment I arrived, the care I received was outstanding. Gabriel, the nurse on duty, was absolutely fantastic. She acted immediately, performed a ketone test, and quickly discovered that I was suffering from ketoacidosis. Although she explained that I was very ill, her calm, professional and caring manner meant I never felt scared.

Gabriel was also incredibly kind and reassuring to my wife, making sure she knew I was in the best possible hands.

The other nurses who cared for me, Carly and Elize, were also wonderful. Elize was called in at midnight to put in a cannula, as I was severely dehydrated, and Carly came in from the farm at Pithara to help with my care.

I felt safe, reassured and genuinely cared for the whole time. I could not have asked for a better experience during such a difficult moment.

Thank you to Gabriel, Carly, Elize and the Dalwallinu Hospital team for your kindness, professionalism and exceptional care.
