"ED Visit with broken arm"

About: Margaret River Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

My Mum took me to Margaret River ED with a broken arm. I was in a lot of pain and was taken straight in, made to feel calm and given happy gas and morphine for the pain while we waited for X-ray.

I did a good job of my arm and needed to get the bones straightened. I was sedated and my arm was straightened and the cast applied. The Nurses and Doctors were so awesome, telling me what they were doing and helping me.

My Mum said I could not have asked for a better team on the night.

Thanks to Dr’s Cathy and Ian and the Nurses, Nic, Marina and Jess.

Ian and Marina did such a good job straightening my bones that I don’t think I need surgery and they can heal on their own. Cathy and Nic ensured that I was safe the whole time and did not feel a thing. We are so grateful for their care. Thanks also to Mary who did all my x-rays.

Dear magpiecs44,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience.

We are truly grateful for your kind words and are so pleased to hear that you felt safe, supported, and well cared for during what must have been a very painful and stressful time.

It means a great deal to know that our team was able to help you feel calm and comfortable, and that the care provided made a positive difference to your experience. We will make sure your feedback is shared with Dr Cathy, Dr Ian, Nic, Marina, Jess, and Mary. They will all be delighted to hear how highly you’ve spoken of their care and teamwork.

We are especially pleased to hear that your treatment went so well and that your injury is healing without the need for surgery. We wish you a smooth and speedy recovery.
